The architects, Herzog & de Meuron, created this unusual building in 2004. With its proximity to the sea and the river of Besòs, the building itself was also named after the colour blue. It’s painted in a beautiful dark blue, like an underwater world, waiting to be explored, with the occasional mirror here and there. When walking towards the entrance, you’ll discover a number of bright areas with mirrors, which reflect the blue sky, creating a beautiful view. The museum was opened in March of 2011. The Museu Blau is part of the natural science museums in the city – alongside the botanical garden, the Martorell Museum and the Laboratori de Natura. These are all located in other parts of the city: In the Park de la Ciutadell, on the Montjuic, or here, at the forum.
This study was designed to examine and compare the position of interethnic marriages in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, before and after the war in the 1990s. It is important to stress that the idea of interethnic marriages has been of important significance for every society, since by couples living together and accepting norms and elements from another culture, relationships and interaction are created between different groups. The research has been carried out by the interview method, which makes it unique, since most of the studies done until today have been of a quantitative nature. The theory used was a macrostructural one, based on a previous study done by Blau and Schwartz in 1984. According to the findings, main differences are seen when it comes to childhood and schooling, but there is similarity in couples' views on the future and the need for every individual to be free in making major life decisions. This study is important because it points to how out how much a segregated education system, complex political rule and religious interference in all spheres of public life can in fact destabilize the city, the country, and probably - the whole region.
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Blau space consists of the multidimensional coordinate system, created by considering the set of socio-demographic variables as dimensions. All socio-demographic characteristics are potential elements of Blau space, including continuous characteristics such as age, years of education, income, occupational prestige, geographic location, and so forth. In addition, categorical measures of socio-demographic characteristics such as race, sex, religion, birthplace, and others are Blau dimensions. "Blau space" is a theoretical construct, named after Peter Blau, first presented in McPherson''s "Ecology of Affiliation" in American Sociological Review Vol. 48 (1983), pp. 519-532. However, a more sophisticated version is presented in McPherson and Ranger-Moore''s "Evolution on a Dancing Landscape: Organizations and Networks in Dynamic Blau Space" in Social Forces Vol. 70 (1991), pp. 19 42.
